Ravana Cave is a historic and legendary site located near Ella in the Badulla District. Believed to be connected to the ancient Indian epic Ramayana, it is said to have been used by King Ravana to hide Princess Sita. The cave offers a short but steep climb and a glimpse into local mythology.
Ravana Cave is about 2km from Ella town and can be reached by foot or tuk-tuk, followed by a steep stair climb to the entrance.
The cave is around 1,370 meters above sea level and features narrow tunnels believed to connect to other ancient sites. It is a significant location in Ramayana folklore and draws both pilgrims and curious travelers.
