D.S. Rock is a unique-shaped rock which is situated along the Passara � Madulsima � Metigahatenna Road in Metigahatenna, close to Madulsima. The rock has been names after the first Prime Minister of the country, Hon. D.S. Senanayake as it is believed to resemble his face. The rock can be seen when going to Madulsima. It is surrounded by a mountain range and tea estate.
From Ella, drive via the Ella�Passara�Madulsima�Metigahatenna route; approximately 60?km and 2�?hours later, you�ll spot D.S.?Rock alongside the road near Metigahatenna.
D.S.?Rock is believed to resemble the face of Hon. Don Stephen Senanayake, Sri Lanka�s first Prime Minister.Although a natural formation, its nationalistic naming reflects post-independence pride.
The site is often included in offbeat scenic drives and tea-estate tours beyond Ella.
